期待の発表
カンファレンスではWWDC 2012からApple CEO Tim Cookが基調イベントのオープニングを務めている。 iOS、iPadOS、および macOS の新バージョンなどのオペレーティング システムの発表は、通常、ソフトウェア エンジニアリング担当上級副社長 Craig Federighi によって行われます。 新しい watchOS の発表は、通常、テクノロジー担当副社長の Kevin Lynch が行います。
背景
WWDC 2020 は、COVID-19 が発生し、世界中のさまざまな時間に Apple のすべての小売店を一時的に閉鎖したため、オンライン形式でバーチャル開催される初の Worldwide Developers Conference となりました。 2021年の状況により、再びシリコンバレー地区で直接開催されるかどうかは未定です。
Appleは、2020年に仮想開催されたSwift Student Challengeなど、カンファレンスとともに毎年奨学金イベントも開催しています。
